The action picks up on the next page, as Mr. Egan warns Cody against trying anything. That night, with the help of Miss Clef and two of the teachers, the Juveys travel from the Pacific coast to New York City, where they proceed to vandalize Sylvia Loque's property. The next morning she finds her wardrobe in tatters, her limo in the swimming pool, her Mercedes on the roof, her yard overgrown with poison ivy, aconite, belladonna and deadly nightshade, and her 15th-floor office window graffiteed -- from outside. In addition, Miss Winchley hacked into her computers and released several confidential memos to the press. All in all, Sylvia Loque has a bad morning. At lunch her daughter pays her a visit, and reminds her that paybacks are a bitch, and that she shouldn't start anything she can't finish.

Mr. Egan threatens to fire the two teachers, and they give him two amazing justifications for their actions, one of which takes Cody by complete surprise.
